7th Grade Newsletter

Dear WBMS 7th Grade Band Parents and Students,

Your band students have been doing a great job preparing their music for the upcoming Large Group Performance Evaluation (LGPE).

We are very proud of the work they are putting in every day and very much look forward to you getting to hear them at their upcoming Pre-LGPE Concert on Thursday, March 12th. This is the one concert of the year where they do not stop working on the music after the concert as we will continue to make final touches to all of the music before the LGPE.

Note: Please encourage students to practice as they have a performance/chair assessment due in Canvas by Wednesday, March 4th. Details regarding this assignment can be found below.

Alpharetta High School Raider Band

One of our own Webb Bridge Middle School past band students and current senior at Alpharetta High School has earned the title of Class of 2026 Valedictorian - congratulations to WBMS Band alum and AHS Band student Maddie Good!

Congrats to these AHS Band Groups!

The Alpharetta Indoor Percussion premiered at South Forsyth and pulled off a tight 1st place finish to start their season! 

• Indoor Percussion is a great group that WBMS Band Students can participate in when they get to the AHS Band Program.
• The Alpharetta Cadets Winterguard premiered their 2026 program at Denmark High School and earned first place! The AHS Cadets Winterguard includes some of our very own band students! Congratulations!
• The Alpharetta Winterguard also had great success in their first competition in an extremely hard division with improving their points by nearly 10 points!

Way to Go Raiders!

Your child is very lucky to get to participate in such strong programs within the Alpharetta High School Band Program.

Encourage Practicing!

​​It is necessary that the students practice at home as often as they can (we recommend every day for 15 minutes outside of class time) to ensure proper development during 7th Grade. This is much more beneficial than practicing once a week or only on the weekends as this is not nearly enough time to develop. Frequency (every day) of practice is most important! Please remember that the band room is open every morning starting at 8AM for open practice - students are strongly encouraged to come down to practice!
